Dentistry has improved vastly over the last couple decades but that doesn’t mean the excuses have stopped.
Here are some of the most popular ones:
1.) It’s going to hurt
This excuse may be reasonable. However, no good enough.
The truth is that the mouth is a hypersensitive part of the body. It’s full of thousands of nerve endings and any contact with one of those nerve endings can result in a varying degrees of pain. The pain might be anywhere from 1-100 depending on your level of sensitivity.
2.) I’m ashamed of how long it’s been
Your Dentist isn’t there to scold you. They want your teeth happy and healthy. However, not going to your scheduled appointments can make for some unnecessary visits later on down the road.
3.) It’s too expensive
The majority of dentists have ways to finance the procedures if shelling out for them all at once is not feasible.
4.) It’s a waste of time
The mouth is full of important blood vessels. If an infection occurs, it can lead to series medical problems for the entire body such as Heart disease, Osteoporosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
